Hey, everyone. Kyle Robbins here with the Law Offices of Kyle Robbins.
So, I get asked a lot, is there a time limit to have a will probated when someone passes away? The short answer is yes, there is a hard time limit. You have four years after somebody passes to present that will to the probate court.
If you don’t do it within that amount of time, there are a few exceptions where the court might allow the will to still be probated. But if anybody doesn’t like the will, what it says, if the family member might’ve been disinherited, says, nope, you know what? I don’t think you should be able to do that, it’s probably not going to get admitted. So, very important to actually probate your wills within the four-year statute of limitations.
